This lovely statue is called the “Arte y Pico” award which was created to be given to bloggers who inspire others with their creative energy and talents no matter whether it be in the form of writing, artwork, design, interesting material, or contributions to the blogger community. When a blogger receives this award it is considered a “special honor” and, once presented to you, it is to be passed on to at least 5 other bloggers who meet the criteria.
Jan D honored me with this award and I just wanted to say thanks even though I can’t imagine how I could inspire such a talented person. Carla, Judy, Randi, Ronda, Jan, Becca all inspire me. They are very talented artists and do so while over coming so much in life. If you have already received this award it is because you inspire many of us all the time. All of you, plus many more, inspire me daily. Sometimes many times a day.

Well, my doctor released me Thursday for limited work but I have so much pain from inflammation around the bone where they drilled the 4 holes and stitched the tendon. He gave me the pain & inflammation patches, Flector. I hope they work cause they cost me $343.80 for 60 patches. I replace the patch every 12 hours for 30 days. I had not noticed any improvement until this morning and my arm didn’t hurt as much. This afternoon it started hurting bad again but maybe the medicine is beginning to work.
Some of you know that I started quilting my Eleanor Burn’s 9 patch and stripes before I had surgery with the Baptist Fan. After 4 rows I decided I didn’t like the BF so I just let it sit while I recuperated. After 3 or 4 weeks I took it off and frogged all the BF stitches. When I got able to quilt I started over doing the stressless feathers. I love it now.
Some of the pix are a little blurry but you get the idea.
Most of you know that the love of our life is a 3 year old Min Pin named Jazzlyn, Jazzy for short. I thought I would share pix of her in her new dress.
Tomorrow I see a Neuropsycologist for my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I still have so much trouble with flashbacks and panic attacks. I try not to dwell on it but my brain just refuses to listen. I know that I could have been more severly injured and I am thankful I wasn’t but my mind just won’t let go. I tell Lynn he is married to a Looney Toon now. Maybe before too long I will be back to as normal as I can be.
I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Our anniversary won’t actually be until August 11. That is also my birthday. I have been wanting a Hoosier cabinet for several years but they are expensive. My hubby surprised me by taking me shopping to pick one out. When I bought it I really didn’t like the gold color on it but liked the style so I decided I would paint it. After we got it home it looks great in here so I’m not painting it. At least not right now. It is a Hoosier Cabinet made in 1943.
My fabric that I ordered a few days ago came in and I love, love, love it. The colors look so good together. They look a little dark in the pic.
I have chosen my pattern. The Cornerstones quilt by Eleanor Burns. I think it will showcase the beautiful colors. What do you think?
Yesterday when I went to the doctor I had to go to Batesville, Ar. That is also where Marshall Dry Goods is so I couldn’t resist a trip to their store. Here is my fabric I purchased. I am planning on making some new curtains and valances out of the check and off white. I know the check probably looks wild to you but I love it and it will look great in my house. The brown is for the backing of the cornerstones quilt, I think. We also went by the music store and got some things Lynn needed for his hobby. Playing the guitar. I’m so happy he has that. It helps him get through some rough days.
Tommorrow I have the needle biopsy done on my thyroid. I have really been dreading that since I saw the pix of Randi after she had it done. I’m strong though and will get through it, especially after all my friends have said such good thoughts and prayers for me.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
